Q. What differences should I expect during the public beta period?

All CatalX free membership functions and services are available during the public beta period. However, for service stability, a few restrictions apply, as follows:

Access to trade is offered sequentially in order of pre-registration.

During this period, users may deposit and withdraw Canadian Dollars (CAD) only. Cryptocurrencies cannot be deposited nor withdrawn.

Q. Why is the access to trade offered sequentially?

Along with the CAD markets, our partnership with Bittrex allows CatalX to support the largest number of diverse types of cryptocurrency trading in Canada.Since it is crucial for markets to maintain a stable and smooth flow of trades, CatalX offers access to trade sequentially in the order of pre-registration to prevent transaction delays and eliminate unforeseen issues. This is a best practice for exchanges, and while CatalX is aware of the potential for inconvenience we will ensure any wait times are minimized for all users. Your patience is greatly appreciated.

Q. How long is the wait for me to get access for trading?

The access for trading is offered in the order of preregistration and we expect minimal delays. At CatalX, we are working hard to give access to as many users as quickly as possible. Greater detail with schedules will be announced in the second week of the public beta period.

Q. What are CAD, BTC, ETH, and USDT?

CatalX consists mainly of:

the Canadian Dollar (CAD) market, in which Fiat currency can be used to buy and sell cryptocurrencies, and

Bitcoin (BTC), Ethereum (ETH), and Tether (USDT) markets, in which you can trade in the cryptocurrencies with other cryptocurrencies.

All of the markets are accessible in partnership with Bittrex. All trading is done through the Bittrex markets, unless and until stated otherwise.

Q. What is CatalX’s policy on trading fees?

The trading fee for all markets is currently offered at 0.25%. Although any and all fees charged by CatalX are equivalent to fees charged by Bittrex - not higher nor lower - there are foreign exchange fees that are charged in order to facilitate trading through the Bittrex markets. Any and all foreign exchange fees will be reflected in the $CAD price that is displayed.
